Prox-Compatible Cards

Proximity technology operates on 125kHz frequency and is ideal for access control solutions. Proximity cards are powered by resonant energy transfer and have a range of 0-3 inches in most instances. The card reader presents a field that excites the coil and charges the capacitor, which in turn energizes and powers the IC. The IC then transmits the card number via the coil to the card reader. The user will usually be able to leave the card inside a wallet or purse.

Our CR-80 cards are offered at the same cost as some clamshell solutions. The CR-80 cards are video grade and shrink-wrapped in 100’s. These cards are compatible with the following bit-patterns offered by large integrators and manufacturers.

• 26-bit

• 34-bit

• 35-bit

• 36-bit

• 37-bit

We do also sell Clamshell cards, keytags and molded fobs and custom printing. Adhesive labels (Paper-backing) for Clamshell cards are also available with or without pre-printing.

Each shipment is sent with a log file as confirmation that the chip is alive. We also use the log file to help prevent re-orders from using numbers from previous orders.

What is Low Frequency?

The LF band covers frequencies from 30 KHz to 300 KHz. Typically LF RFID systems operate at 125 KHz, although there are some that operate at 134 KHz. This frequency band provides a short read range of 10 cm, and has slower read speed than the higher frequencies, but is not very sensitive to radio wave interference.

LF RFID applications include access control and livestock tracking.

Standards for LF animal-tracking systems are defined in ISO 14223, and ISO/IEC 18000-2. The LF spectrum is not considered a truly global application because of slight differences in frequency and power levels throughout the world.
